1. Is it possible to use it on bike paths?

[Yes] The electric bike falls into the category of cycles. It is strongly recommended to use bike paths when you have the opportunity. It will improve the safety of road users as well as yours.

2. The battery does recharge itself downhill or when braking?

[No] We made the choice not to equip our bikes with a dynamo system because it needs a little extra energy and limits the performance of your bike.

3. Should I wear a helmet riding an electric bike?

[No] As for all bikes, helmet is not mandatory. However, it is strongly recommended for your safety.

4. Is it necessary to have a license or insurance for an electric bike?

[No] The electric bicycle is first a true cycle. It is therefore not necessary to subscribe to an insurance or register a driver's license or vehicle registration. However, you may subscribe an insurance against theft. It is also possible to ensure your bike with a marking facility to reduce the risk of theft. In case of accident, your personal liability may be engaged.

5. Is it possible to recharge the electric bike anywhere?

[Yes] Your bike is supplied with a charger that fits over any standard outlet. In some of our models, it is possible to remove your battery from your bike to recharge from a power source.

6. What is happening when the battery discharged?

[assistance Off] In this case, no more energy would be supplied to the engine which can not run. However, you can still use your bike as a standard bicycle until the next recharge (and maybe sweat a bit more).

7. Can I know the level of battery charge and whether it is properly loaded?

[Yes] All our bikes are delivered with a display system of the battery charge level. You can, by simply checking it, know the charge level of your bike.

8. How to charge my battery, how long does it take to charge?

When purchasing your bike, charger is included. So you can plug it into any electrical outlet. You can either charge the battery on the bike or remove the battery from the frame to recharge it where you want. The charging time depends on the model but we can count on average 5 hours of load.

9. Are the batteries standard?

[No] The model of the battery may vary depending on the selected bike. It is therefore advisable to use our services for replacement.

10. What is the life of the battery?

[700 to 800 recharges] Our batteries are among the most reliable and efficient market and offer up to 800 charging cycles. Other batteries on the market may have on average 500 to 600 recharges.

11. What is the "memory effect"?

[battery capacity loss] When you regularly recharge your battery without letting it discharge completely, you generate a loss of battery capacity, so a loss of autonomy. It is therefore recommended to fully discharge and recharge your battery regularly to maintain performance. However, for your information, the batteries that power our bikes does not suffer from the "memory effect".

12. Is it necessary to recharge the battery of my bike after every ride?

[No], but you may prefer a complete recharge than a partial one that can cause a premature wear of it.

13. What types of batteries do equip your electric bikes?

[Panasonic Lithium Ion] All our bikes are equipped with lithium ion batteries. The most reliable and best performing on the market, they are standard throughout the range. They offer greater autonomy than other batteries available in the market and a lower weight without "memory effect" enabling you to recharge more than 800 times.

14. What is the distance range of an electric bike?

[Between 30 and 100 km] Battery autonomy will vary depending on different factors : the type of battery used (lead batteries offers fewer autonomy than lithium batteries). It also varies depending on the terrain (in hillside, autonomy is reduced because the electric motor must supply more power to ensure the same performance). Eventually, it varies according to the body size (a bike used by a child will have a greater autonomy than of a bike used by an adult).

15. What is the maximum weight that an electric bike can support?

[100 kg], it is necessary to control the total weight of the user and transported equipment and make sure it does not excess 100kg, otherwise, your electric bike would not able to provide the power required for optimal support. It may also cause a premature wear of your bike.

16. Electric bicycle and water do they mix?

[Yes] Your e-bike has been designed to cope with all weather conditions. It can therefore be used even in rainy weather as all electrical components are protected tightly. However, the bike is not really good at swimming.

17. Is the engine noisy?

[No] Equipped with electric motors, electric bikes can be quieter than traditional bikes. It is therefore advisable to have a bell or horn to signal your presence to other users.

18. Are electric bikes heavier than traditional bikes?

[Yes] They carry a battery and an electric motor making their weight somewhat higher than traditional bicycles (on average 3 to 4 kg of more). However you won't feel this extra-weight when riding in assistance.

The new electric bicycle generations are lighter than the first generation.

19. Is assistance running On slopes ?

[Yes] Assistance allows you to climb 8-9% slopes effortlessly. Further, you will need to make an extra effort but you remain always assisted bicycle (if you decide to ride and climb and not walk, you will be less sweaty and exhausted as the assistance will help you))

20. So how fast can I ride with my electric bike?

With the electric assistance, as soon as you reach 25km / h, the assistance is automatically cut. This speed is defined by French law. The objective of the electric bicycle is to keep an average of between 20 and 25 km / h easily.

However, you can reach more than 25km / h without electric assist, pedalling or downhill

21. Is running in necessary?

[Yes] The first times you use your electric bike, it is necessary to perform at least one full charge and discharge the battery. This way you get maximum performance from it. To optimize battery 2Raventure suggests you start pedalling without the assistance and activate it after a few meters.

22. Do we need to pedal to ride the e-bike?

If you want to enjoy the power assistance, pedalling is required . The electric motor is actuated if one pedal moves as required by French law. A sensor automatically detects the pedaling and activates the assistance. It turns off automatically when you stop pedaling, cut the assistance switch or press brake control.

23. How does the electric assistance work?

The electric assistance works when you pedal and cuts when you stop.

It can also cut as soon as the bike reaches 25 km / h, you can drive beyond 25 km / h without assistance from the engine.

According to the model of bike, electric assistance can be adjusted, allowing you to set the level of support you need. For example 25% for flat routes, 50% for the slopes ... You can also decide to cut assistance to use your electric bike as a standard bike, to save the battery.

24. Are Your bikes warranted?

[Yes] All bikes are guaranteed. See the data sheet for more details.

25. What is an electric bicycle?

The term "electric bike" is used to differ from the scooter simply booting by turning a key. < / p>

The bike will start only when you start pedaling and cuts as soon as you stop. This type of bike has therefore always need human power to work.

The French legislation is very strict about electric bike and imposes certain conditions so that the bike is considered cycle :

- The engine should stop as soon as you stop pedaling

- The engine bike must be cut as soon as you reach 25 km / h (the bike will go faster but without electric assistance)

- The engine power can not excess 250 watts

- The electric bike should not possess throttle handle, switch, button or other device that would allow the engine to power the bike without pedaling. However, it is permitted to equip the bike assistance settings (it will then help you to 25% capacity, 50%, ...).

26. For repairs, do I need to call 2RAventure?

[No] Our electric bikes are equipped with standard parts that are easily found in specialized resale points. However, it is necessary to use our services for the replacement or repair of specific parts (batteries, electric motor ...).
